Timing a sale
How to sell your startup's assets before you close: data and code
Updated
A startup can only offer what it can still export, so plan a sale while the accounts that hold the archive are open.
Describe my startup's assets Tell us what the company built and holds, and where it is in winding down. We read your answers against the buyers' published terms and reply with the routes that fit.
What the buyers say about timing
- Grepped: payment within 7 days of the data passing review.
- License Your Data: most companies go from form to money in two to three weeks.
- Mercor: typically within 2-4 weeks of the signed agreement.
- Acquire.com, a marketplace for operating businesses: conversations that lead to acquisition in as little as 90 days.
Before the accounts go
Export the repositories, ticket history and workspace archive while the subscriptions are live, and keep a note of what each export holds, so you can tell a buyer what exists without sending the files.
