Who reads the startup data buyers
The people behind this site read the pages where startup data buyers, brokers and marketplaces publish their terms, keep each page they quote, and reply to founders who write in.
The point of this site
The buyers on the table publish their terms on different pages and in different shapes: some a price range, some a fee, some only a quote. Seeing price, fee and payout side by side helps a founder decide before the accounts are deleted.
Who uses it
Founders and directors of startups that are shutting down, pivoting or out of runway, who want to know whether the code, documents and records left behind can be sold, and to whom.
What the site covers
The core is one question, "sell startup data", and a quote form that needs no login. Around it sit 3 guides. There is also a citable data table (figures and method) and the pages we read to build it.
- Sell a dead startup: the buyers that name closing companies: To sell a dead startup's data or code, start with the three buyers whose own pages name closing or shut-down companies, and the seller terms each one gives.
- How to sell your startup's assets before you close: data and code: Before closing, a startup can offer its code and records to buyers: how soon Grepped, License Your Data, Mercor and Acquire.com say a deal moves, and what to export.
- Sell startup assets: what each buyer takes, and the price it shows: To sell startup assets such as code, tickets and workspace data: what buyers on our table say they take, and the prices some of them publish on their own pages.
Things it does not do
- We never ask for source code, customer lists or workspace exports through this site.
- We never describe a buyer beyond what its own page says.
- We never treat customer records as sellable before they are de-identified and advice is taken.

We quote startup data buyers' and brokers' own pages; none of them pays to appear here, and nothing here is legal or insolvency advice. Our fee is published and paid by the startup: 12.5% of the deal, with a minimum, when we act as its exclusive agent, or about 10% when its data joins a bundle or the pool, agreed in writing before any introduction; in a formal insolvency it is a success fee from the realisation, and any fee a buyer pays us is credited to the startup.
